Usually, the most common cause of the error "Authorization failed" when logging into MT5 is that incorrect information entered during a login attempt on terminals.
Please ensure:
- The account number entered is correct.
- The trading (master) password entered is correct.
- The server chosen is the one your account uses.
However, if this is your first time logging into your MT5 trading account especially on phone and even though you have entered the correct account number, master password, and server which were sent to your email, you're still getting this error.
It could be caused by the following problem:
Metaquotes ask you to change your password the first time you log in for Live accounts, which is an account security feature. After entering the correct login information and master password, the screen will display a pop-up asking to change the password right on MT5.
However, for some phone models, this pop-up is not displayed. You need to use another device (such as a desktop) to log in and change the password as above procedure. You can then log back into this device with the new password.
